Gréco, who died on September 23, 2020 at the age of 93, was one of the most important figures in French chanson. As a singer, actress and fashion icon, she shaped the second half of the 20th century. When she gave a recital in the Berlin Philharmonie in 1966 at the invitation of Herbert von Karajan in front of 2,500 completely enthralled listeners, she was already a living myth.
