„Nina Simone in Concert“ was the first Album Nina recorded for the Philips label and was recorded during three shows at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 1964. It marked the beginning of Simone's explicitly Civil Rights oriented music with clearly political messages in tracks like "Mississippi Goddamn", but also songs like "Old Jim Crow", "Go Limp" and "Pirate Jenny", which contained political messages in a more covert or metaphorical way.
VERVE ACOUSTIC SOUNDS SERIES: Stereo, mastered fully analogue from the original tapes by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound, QPR pressing (180 g), firm tip-on gatefold (Stoughton Printing), padded inner sleeve.
